All exports include a 'Completed Questionnaire' and a 'References' folder. Exports vary depending on your type of questionnaire format.
For the best experience, we recommend always uploading a blank questionnaire. This will ensure 1up can detect all relevant queries, requirements, dropdowns, checkboxes, and answer locations.

Excel and CSV Exports
Excel exports are designed to mirror the structure of your original spreadsheet while automatically inserting high-quality responses generated by 1up.
What’s Included
Your preferred response for every query.
Automatic selection of up to 3 dropdown values, when applicable.
A folder of reference files used to generate answers.
All valid answer outputs, excluding system responses such as “I don't know.”
How Answer Placement Works
1up attempts to detect the correct cell for each answer and will automatically insert responses next to the corresponding question.
Pre-existing answers will not be overwritten by 1up.
For text answers, new answers will be exported to the rightmost column.
Dropdowns with already selected values will be ignored.
If an Answer Location Can’t Be Detected
If 1up cannot confidently determine where an answer belongs, you’ll receive a notification letting you know. These answers will still be exported to the rightmost column so you can reposition them manually.
If 1up Got the Wrong Answer Column
Sometimes answers may appear in a hidden or incorrect column. Switch to Document Editor mode, highlight the correct column, then right-click and select “Set Answer Column Here.”
DOCX Exports
When exporting your questionnaire to DOCX, 1up automatically organizes your content to make the document easy to review and edit.

How Answer Placement Works
1up attempts to detect where each answer should be inserted within the document.
In most cases, answers are placed directly next to their corresponding question.
If an Answer Location Can’t Be Detected
On rare occasions, 1up can’t confidently determine the correct placement for a specific answer. When this happens, you’ll receive a notification titled “Missing Answer Locations Detected.”
This message indicates:
1up wasn’t fully certain about the placement of one or more answers.
You can click the provided link to review all affected responses.
These answers are still included in your export—they’ll appear in a separate file named
Missing_Answer_Locations, allowing you to copy and paste them into the document manually.
PDF Exports
When exporting your questionnaire to PDF, 1up provides clean, structured files to help you review answers and prepare documents for final delivery.
What’s Included
An answer file containing your preferred response for every query.
A folder of reference files used to generate each answer.
All valid answer outputs, excluding system responses such as “I don't know.”
Important Note About PDFs
PDFs cannot be modified automatically by 1up.
This means answers will not be inserted into the PDF document directly.
Instead, you can review the answer file provided in the export package and manually insert the responses wherever they are needed.
