Connect your ServiceNow instance so its knowledge articles can be used to generate answers in 1up. You choose exactly which content is included — 1up will not ingest anything you don't explicitly select.
Before you connect, create a REST API key in ServiceNow. This requires admin access to your ServiceNow instance.
Create a REST API key in ServiceNow
Select All in the ServiceNow navigation bar.
Type rest api key into the filter field.
Select REST API Key under System Web Services → API Access Policies.
4. Select New in the top right corner.
5. Enter a name for the key in the Name field, for example 1up.
6. Select the user the key will run as in the User field.
7. Select Submit.
Leave the Expiry field empty if you don't want the key to expire.
Create an inbound authentication profile
Select All, then type `inbound auth` into the filter field.
Select Inbound Authentication Profile under System Web Services → API Access Policies.
3. Select New in the top right corner.
4. Select Create API Key authentication profiles.
5. Enter a name for the profile in the Name field, for example '1up auth profile'.
6. Select the lock icon next to the Auth Parameter field.
7. Type ‘Header’ into the search field and select Header for API Key.
8. Select Submit.
Create a REST API access policy
1. Select All, then type ‘Rest API Access Policies’ into the filter field.
2. Select REST API Access Policies under System Web Services → API Access Policies.
3. Select New in the top right corner.
4. Enter a name for the policy in the Name field, for example ‘1up Access policy’.
5. Select Table API in the REST API field.
6. Select Insert a new row under Inbound authentication profiles.
7. Search for the authentication profile you created, then select the save icon.
8. Select Submit.
Copy your API key
1. Return to REST API Key in ServiceNow.
2. Open the key you created.
3. Copy the value in the Token field.
Connect ServiceNow to 1up
1. Select Knowledge Base in the left sidebar of 1up.
2. Select +Add Knowledge in the top right corner.
3. Find ServiceNow under the Add section of the Add Knowledge window, or type ‘ServiceNow’ into the Search field.
4. Select the ServiceNow tile.
5. Read the note about content selection, then select Confirm.
6. Enter your ServiceNow instance address in the Instance URL field, for example ‘acme.service-now.com’.
7. Paste the token you copied into the API key field.
8. Select Connect.
Select the articles you want to import
1. Browse your ServiceNow knowledge base in the Select Articles from ServiceNow window.
2. Select a folder to open it, or use the breadcrumb trail to move back up a level.
3. Select each article you want to add to your Knowledge Base.
4. Select Upload.
Your selected articles appear in the Sources tab of the Knowledge Base. Select Manage Connection in this window at any time to update your instance details.
