Managing Answer Library

Updated today

Your Answer Library stores every human-approved answer you’ve taught 1up. These entries act as the authoritative response whenever similar questions come up, and they always override conflicting or outdated knowledge.

What the Answer Library Is (and Isn’t)

The Answer Library is not something you need to manually review or maintain. Over time it will contain hundreds or thousands of entries - far too many to manage one by one.

Instead, 1up is designed so that using the Improve Answer workflow is the way you maintain your library. New or corrected answers automatically outrank older ones.

1up is biased toward human-approved content. If there’s ever a conflict, your approved answer wins.

Best Practice: Always Use Improve Answer

Review answers as you work, update them when needed, and let 1up handle the versioning and conflict resolution.

If you consistently use the Improve Answer workflow, your Answer Library will stay clean, current, and highly accurate with no maintenance required.

There are several ways to add or update answers:

1. Improve Answers from Ask 1up

When 1up generates an answer, click Improve This Answer, write the corrected response, optionally add tags, and save to the Knowledge Base.

Note: You can also do this directly from Slack, Teams, or Google Chat by clicking the Improve Answer link appended to every answer.

2. Improve Answers when Automating Questionnaires

Open any questionnaire, edit the answer, and click Save to Knowledge Base. This stores the updated response as the authoritative version.

3. Upload Completed Questionnaires

Go to Add Knowledge → Upload Answer File to import a fully completed Q&A spreadsheet. Use the sample template if needed. This lets you add answers (and tags) in bulk.

Don't have a previously completed questionnaire? Here's a template file you can use.

4. Add Answers Manually

Head to Knowledge Base → Add Knowledge → Write Q&A, enter a question and response, and tag it if you want. This creates a new authoritative entry.

How 1up Handles Duplicates & Conflicts

Your library will naturally contain overlapping or conflicting responses - this is expected. 1up automatically:

• Detects duplicate or conflicting sources
• Resolves the conflict
• Prioritizes the most recent, human-approved answer

This ensures your knowledge stays accurate without any manual cleanup.
